I made a mistake, the previous stop was feb 19... Punta del Este is called St Tropez of Uruguay. It was again a very hot day when you seek the air conditioning. The beaches were very beautiful, thecarchitecture very interesting , mostly from 1900 hundreds. It is very popular destination of rich and famous. Omar Sharif, Tony Curtis etc. used to escape there. The real estate is innexpensive for North Americans but locals with $300 per month suffer greatly, with huge inflation and devaluation of their currency. We had a very interesting and knowledgeable guide. We visited Ralli's muzeum of modern art with Chagall, Dali and an interesting British painter Beryl Cook. Look her up. Then we had some free time for some souvenir shopping...but both Cat and I have enough dust catchers at home, though we foundk an interesting cup for drinking tea, matee, dont know if I spelled it roght. It is like a little bowl covered in leather with a silver theiveted" straw". Dont know if I spelled it right....Extremely hot day and very muggy and humid, it drains your energy. Back to the ship to revive...
